On May 31, the City of Moreno Valley welcomed yet another innovative business into its community with the much-anticipated grand opening of 85°C Bakery Cafe, located at 12625 Frederick Street, Suite D-3, in the Towngate Shopping Center.

The Mayor and City Council attended the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with scores of residents, local businesspeople, and members of the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“Both 85°C Bakery Cafe and the City of Moreno Valley have inspirational stories to tell; stories of hard work and dedication that got us to where we are today,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “I am thrilled to see a company like this with such a great reputation, as well as a bright future, open in our City.”

Founded in Taipei, Taiwan in 2003 by Andy Ko, and opening its first US store in 2008, 85°C Bakery Cafe now has more than 1,000 locations worldwide. The innovative café offers specialty coffees and more than 50 varieties of pastries made fresh daily. The company has been featured in Time Magazine, CNN, NPR, and the Travel Channel.

Moreno Valley Councilmember (District 1) Elena Baca-Santa Cruz stated, “Like so many other businesses that have opened here, 85°C Bakery recognizes that Moreno Valley has the perfect recipe of people and resources to help them grow their business.”

“We cannot wait to bring our selection of bread, cakes, and beverages to this community!” said Monica Chua, the bakery chain’s Operations Director.
